Fix Error code 0x8007000d [Solved]

Follow these fixes for Error code 0x8007000d solutions. Windows updates sometimes show these errors in devices after updating your windows . Fix 1: Empty SystemDistribution download folder

  1. Press Windows key + R together.
  2. Go to “C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download”.
  3. Delete the contents of the folder.

  2. In command prompt type
  • wuauclt.exe /updatenow

  7. Wait for the process to complete.

b) Run DISM

  1. Start Command Prompt as administrator.
  2. Run below commands one by oneDism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
  3. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
  4. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealt
  5. DISM scan will now start and take about 20 minutes or more to complete.

Fix 5: Reset Windows Update components to the default

  1. Start Command Prompt as administrator.
  2. Input each of these separate commands and press Enter after each one:

    • ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bak
  4. Type this command into the Prompt and hit Enter:
    • ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.bak
  5. Then input these four separate commands (press the Return key after entering each one):
    • net start bits
    • net start appidsvc
    • net start wuauserv
    • net start cryptsvc
  6. Close the Command Prompt.
  7. Restart your PC.

Fix 6: Enable Windows Update using Group Policy Editor

  1. Press Windows + R keys together.
  2. Type gpedit.msc and press enter.
  3. In next window, go to Computer Configuration/ Administrative Templates/ System
  4. Locate the “Specify settings for optional component installation and component repair” policy. Double Click on it.
  5. Check Enable radio button.
  6. Click on OK to save the changes

  1. Start Command Prompt as administrator.
  2. Perform below commands one by one:
    • net stop wuauserv
    • net stop cryptSvc
    • net stop bits
    • net stop msiserver
  3. Now perform below commands:
    • ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    • ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
  4. Additionally perform below commands:
    • netsh winsock reset
    • netsh winhttp reset proxy
  5. Restart Update services again by below commands:
    • net start wuauserv
    • net start cryptSvc
    • net start bits
    • net start msiserver

Finally, close the command prompt and restart your system. After your system comes back try to update windows again, if you still get the error 0x8007000d, try below steps.
